Molly Meets is a little bit of fun, a chance to chat to friends and influencers to discover a little more about their bedtimes.

This year, we have been working with Sophie Robinson, interior designer and cushion celebrity, to create something really special. Molly met with Sophie on the beach in Brighton to talk about bedtimes...

  • How would you describe your bedroom in 3 words?

Cosy, colourful, haven.

  • Is there such a thing as too many cushions on your bed?

I’m tempted to say no…but actually making the bed is enough of a faff on a busy school run morning so in my case yes! I opt for two oversized cushions only as they are the perfect props for a tea in bed, which is possibly my most favourite thing to do on a weekend.

  • What’s on your bedside table today?

Bottle of water, my phone (on airplane mode), notebook, Seven Spiritual Laws of Success by Deepak Chopra. I’m a self-help book addict!

  • Are you an early bird or night owl?

Early bird.

  • What do your wear to bed?

Pyjamas. I have quite a colourful collection!

  • You’re having a midnight feast for 6, who is invited?

Jennifer Lawrence (good in a pillow fight), Steven Fry (for bedtime stories), Nigella Lawson (to bring cake), Benjamine Clementine (for lullabies), David Walliams (for a game of truth or dare), and Kim Woodburn (to make the beds and tidy up afterwards).

  • What time is bed time in your house?

10pm sharp. I like to be tucked up before the news comes on.

  • Flat sheet or fitted sheet?

Fitted.

  • How do you like your eggs in the morning?

Soft boiled with cracked pepper and salt.

  • Tea first or Coffee in the morning?

I don’t drink caffeine so love a mug of Rooibos or hot lemon and ginger.

  • Is it ok to breakfast in bed in your house?

Absolutely!

  • Can you share with us your bedtime routine?

Pass out! I’m often too tired to read or do lengthy beauty routines. I absolutely love sleep so like to get off to the land of nod as quickly as possible.

  • You’re off for a weekend camping… What one thing would you take from your bedroom?

Everything. We have a bell tent and I take mattresses, fitted sheets, duck down duvets and pillows all laid out on top of my Persian carpets, so it feels home from home. I take sleeping very seriously- can you tell!

  • Tell us a secret?

When my husbands away I let the dog sleep in the bed with me.

  • Who do you think that should Molly meet next?

Daniel Hopwood. I bet he wears monogrammed pressed pyjamas in bed!
