If you’d like to purchase something lovely for someone but are not sure exactly what to choose, then a gift card is a brilliant and thoughtful option. Our gift cards are e-gift cards, which means that a unique code will be sent by email to you which you can then print out or forward to the lucky recipient. The code can then be used as payment towards a purchase from our online Secret Linen Store.

You can click here to go to the gift card product page on our website and then add your chosen gift value to your shopping bag and complete the order as you would if you were purchasing a physical product.

You will then receive an order confirmation email containing the unique code and link. You can also call our lovely Customer Smile Makers on 01243 822599 if you’d prefer to buy a gift card over the phone.

Although we’d love to deliver your gift card in person, accompanied by our very own brass band, in actual fact your gift card will be delivered via email to your email address. Quick and simple (and a bit less noisy).

Once you receive the email containing the unique code, you can either forward the email to the intended recipient, or print out the link (which looks something like this) and hand it over in person.

You lucky parsnip! Let the fun begin. Your first step is to browse our website and choose some lovely things to pop in your shopping bag. Then to redeem your gift card online, simply enter the 16-digit code from the gift card email in the ‘Gift card or discount code’ box at checkout. If you’re using your phone or tablet this box is on the ‘Payment’ screen of the checkout.

You can use your gift card to make a full or part payment for any spend online. This means that you don’t need to spend the entire balance all at once and you can also buy something that is worth more than the value of your gift card. 

If the value of your spend is less than the amount on the card, this will be deducted and the remaining balance will be available to use for future purchases. If the value of your spend exceeds the amount on the card, you can pay the remaining balance with another payment method.

Gift cards are applied to the final order total which includes shipping and taxes. Gift cards cannot be used to buy gift cards.

Important: Make sure you keep the gift card email safe in case you get a refund back on to your gift card.

Although we very much hope that you fall in love with what you have ordered, you can of course return anything purchased with a gift card (providing it hasn’t been washed or used – see our Refunds & Returns page for more information). Any refunds will go back on to the original gift card so please keep your gift card purchase email safe.

If you would like a refund for part of your order that was purchased using both a gift card and another method of payment, then we will first refund your alternative method up to the value paid using this method, and then the remainder will go back on to your gift card ie You have placed an order for £85, using a gift card worth £50 and covering the remaining £35 with your bank card.  If you return something worth £60, then £35 will be refunded back on to your bank card and £25 will go back on to your gift card.

Gift card balances cannot be transferred to a bank account. 

You have 2 years from date of purchase to use your gift card. If you return items that you bought with a gift card then the refund will go back on to the gift card and the expiry date will be the same as the original gift card.

If you’re lucky enough to have more than one gift card, then please go ahead and use them both! Simply add the second unique code in the same ‘Gift card or discount code’ box at checkout and both will be applied.  

Absolutely! Gift cards are just another form of payment and can be used in the same way as a debit or credit card to pay for an order, even if it has been discounted with a code.
