Tablecloths FAQs
To create that elegant drape over the edges of your table, aim for an overhang of at least eight inches. This means your tablecloth should be around sixteen inches longer and wider than your table for the perfect fit.
If you’re going for a more formal look, a fifteen-inch overhang is the traditional choice for special occasions, so your tablecloth should be thirty inches longer and wider than your table for that extra touch of luxury.
For special occasions, dinner parties, or just when you are feeling a little la-di-da, there are lots of ways to give your tablecloth some luxury styling.
Laying a contrasting table runner down the centre of your tablecloth adds so much extra colour and dimension. Then, add linen accessories like napkins and placemats for that real restaurant feel.

To iron your tablecloth, make sure to take it out of the dryer or off of the washing line while it’s still damp.
You’ll need to clean your iron and use distilled water to avoid marks—the last thing you want is to have to wash your tablecloth all over again.
Flip your tablecloth over to iron it on the underside first. If you have a dark-coloured tablecloth, lucky you. You’ll only need to iron the underside, and then you’re all done and dusted. Lighter-coloured tablecloths will need ironing on both sides, though.
