We're always super-duper excited to see what Pantone have in store every year for their Colour Of The Year, it's like Christmas to us (and all interior lovers).
Since 2020 has been...an unusual year to say the least, Pantone has treated us to not one, but two colours of the year. Say hello to Ultimate Grey and Illuminating.
"A message of happiness supported by fortitude, the combination of PANTONE 17-5104 Ultimate Gray + PANTONE 13-0647 Illuminating is aspirational and gives us hope. We need to feel that everything is going to get brighter – this is essential to the human spirit." - pantone.com
Yellow and Grey Bedroom Ideas
We've been fans of the yellow and grey combo for many years now, so If you're looking to take inspiration from the colour(s) of the year, then we recommend mixing and matching yellows and greys on your bed.
We adore this colour combination because you can combine them in your bedroom, but have two completely different moods, and here's how...
Firstly, decide what you want your main colour to be. Would you like a sunny, buttery yellow linen cover with grey cushions and throws? Or would you prefer to go for a grey bed and add pops of colour with yellow accessories. After you've chosen your colour scheme you can start to pick and choose your other bedroom accessories. Like we said, these are two completely different bedrooms for moody and bright colour lovers alike.
Paint and Wallpapers
To decorate your bedroom, we can't recommend Little Greene enough...in fact we use them all the time in our photoshoots. They have the absolute yummiest paint colours as well as fabulous wallpapers. For a yellow and grey bedroom, we recommend Mid Lead Colour or Lemon Mivvi. If you're looking for a feature wall, we'd go with their Ombre Plain - Harbour wallpaper. It's a lovely grey and white stripe that's not too overpowering against a yellow bed.
