What is the softest bed sheet?

All of the lovely fabrics we use at our Secret Linen Store are spectacularly soft. Our cotton is heavenly to lie on, especially our brushed cotton, which has raised fibres for a fluffy feel.

How to measure for single bed sheets

Pick the right sized sheets for your single bed by taking a few measurements before you buy. Remove the existing sheets from your mattress, then grab a trusty tape measure.

The first two measurements you’ll need are length and width, which you can take by simply measuring down and across the surface of your mattress. You’ll also need to measure depth, which involves measuring the space between the top and bottom surfaces of the mattress.

What are the different types of bed sheets?

What is a deep fitted sheet?

Deep fitted sheets are made to wrap around any mattresses more than 35cm thick. For a 40cm mattress, try an extra-deep fitted sheet for proper coverage.

What is a flat sheet?

A flat sheet, or top sheet, can be wrapped around your mattress or simply laid over the top - it’s up to you. It’s different to a fitted sheet, which has an elasticated hem to fit tightly and securely around the mattress.
