Perfect Your Bedroom Set Up With Our Bed Sheets

We know that the duvet cover and pillowcases often steal the show, but choosing the perfect bed sheets to complement them is also essential. Learn more about our range of bed sheets below.

How often should I change bed sheets?

How often you change your bed sheets depends on the time of year, whether you're a hot sleeper or not, whether you share your bed and how particular you are about your sheets being fresher than fresh.

We normally recommend changing your sheets every 1-2 weeks, but if you'd like to work out exactly how often you should refresh your bed, why not use our handy Clean Sheets Calculator?

For more information, read our blog on when you should change your bed sheets.

How to fold fitted bed sheets

While it may seem quickest to roll it up, neatly folding your sheet only takes seconds and will help keep you organised and your bed looking wrinkle-free.

Follow these four simple steps to fold your bed sheets like a professional.

Step 1 – lay the fitted sheet out

Step 2 - put bottom corners into top corners

Step 3 – fold into a long rectangle

Step 4 –  fold the left third into the middle, and then the right third into the middle

What is thread count?

Thread count is simply a way of measuring the number of vertical and horizontal threads per square inch of your bed linen. The higher the thread count, the more threads within the fabric. We explain thread count further in our guide.

What is the best thread count for sheets?

Regarding bed sheets, we would say that the highest you can afford to go and the closer to 1000 thread count you can get, is the best option.

Your sheets will have more wear and tear than your duvet cover, and the stronger the fabric, the longer it will last.

If you have any specific questions relating to thread counts, you can get in touch with our friendly Customer Smile Makers.

What is the difference between fitted and flat sheets?

If you haven't yet mastered your hospital corners and like making the bed a quick and easy task, we recommend a fitted sheet. Elasticated all the way around with sewn-in corners, our fitted sheets are designed to hug your mattress securely and stay put all night.

However, you cannot beat a flat sheet for versatility: use it over your mattress, as a lightweight cover on a hot night, or even as a throw for a sofa or makeshift tablecloth.
