How to care for a single duvet

The great news is that all our single duvets are machine-washable, and you should only need to wash them once or twice a year. Our down duvets and synthetic alternatives can all be washed at 40 degrees Celsius, meaning you can freshen up your summer duvet in a jiffy. For wool duvets, we recommend professional cleaning. For minor cleaning jobs, like if you spill a cuppa on your duvet, it’s best to spot-clean the patch with a damp cloth and some warm, soapy water rather than washing the whole thing. Can I use a single duvet on a double bed?

Yes, you can use a single duvet on a double bed, using the Scandinavian Sleep Method. This is a bedding technique that’s designed to improve sleep quality for couples who usually play tug-of-war with their duvet. Each partner has their own single duvet, preventing duvet hogging. This is also a great option if one of you tends to get a little hotter throughout the night, as you can choose different tog ratings to improve sleep comfort.

How often should I replace my single duvet?
