Linen Bedding FAQs

Why choose linen bedding?

Lovely linen has qualities that make it well suited to bedding. It is breathable and moisture-wicking, helping to regulate temperature and keep you comfortable through the night. It is also made from natural fibres that are gentle on sensitive skin.

We are also big fans of the Slow Bedroom trend, and linen is the star of the show. Its relaxed, textured look helps create a low-dopamine space that calms the mind.

Is linen bedding better for hot or cold sleepers?

The answer is... both. Linen is a natural insulator, meaning it holds heat in winter, but its open weave allows airflow in summer. It regulates your body temperature to keep you just right so you can get those much-needed Z’s.

Learn the science of linen bedding in our blog, Science of Temperature Regulating Bed Linen, or find out why linen is best for hot and cold sleepers here.

Is linen bedding actually expensive?

Investing in linen is always well worth it because it will stand the test of time. As linen fibres are much stronger than cotton, high-quality linen lasts for years (and years). When you break it down by cost per sleep, it’s actually one of the most affordable luxuries you can buy. Plus, it’s timeless, so it never goes out of style.

How do I care for my linen, and do I need to iron it?

When it comes to linen, you do not need to iron it. In fact, we think the natural creases are part of its charm. To wash, just use a mild detergent at 40 degrees. You don't even need fabric softener, as our linen bedding sets naturally get softer with every single wash.

Is linen good for your skin?

If you have sensitive skin, natural fabrics can be a good choice. Linen is breathable and moisture-wicking, which can help reduce a clammy feeling and help you feel comfortable all night long.
