The Luxury of Glorious Goose Down

Goose down duvets are known for being lightweight and cosy, but they also offer excellent breathability, ensuring proper air circulation and temperature regulation. With their high-quality materials and craftsmanship, goose down duvets are durable, long-lasting, and often considered a premium choice for ultimate comfort and indulgence.

Goose down refers to the soft and fluffy feathers found beneath the outer feathers of a goose. It is known for its excellent insulation properties, providing warmth and comfort in a duvet. Goose down clusters create pockets of air that trap heat, making it an ideal choice for those who like a lightweight duvet and a cosy sleeping environment.

All our duvets are hypoallergenic because we only use the highest quality down which exceeds European cleanliness standards. You can read more here about anti-allergy bedding.

Fill power refers to the measure of the loft or fluffiness of the down filling in a duvet. The more space one ounce of down occupies, the higher the fill power. Higher fill power indicates a higher quality duvet with better insulation and loft. All our goose down duvets have a fill power of at least 650 with our lovely Golden Goose's fill power being a light and luxurious 800. You can read more about fill power and all things feather and down in our Duvet and Pillow Buying Guide.

Although all our duvets can be washed in a machine at home, we recommend following the care instructions carefully so as not to damage your luxurious new duvet. If you're at all worried about washing your duvet we urge you to take it to a professional. You likely won't need to wash your duvet very often at all, so in the meantime you can spot clean and regularly fluff and air it out to help retain its loft and freshness. Goose down duvets offer excellent insulation but with great breathability, making them perfect for year-round use. For summer months we would recommend choosing a lighter weight duvet, such as a 4.5 tog, but replacing with a heavier 13.5 to 15 tog duvet for the winter. We also offer an All Season option which consists of two duvets (a summer weight 4.5 tog and a spring/autumn 9 tog) which can be used separately or combined to achieve a very cosy cover for the winter months (13.5 tog).
