Duck down is the soft, fluffy layer of feathers found beneath the outer duck feathers. It provides excellent insulation, making it a popular filling for duvets due to its warmth, lightness, and comfort.

Both duck down and goose down offer excellent insulation and comfort. Generally, goose down clusters are larger and provide more loft and warmth for the same weight, but duck down is often more affordable while still offering a high level of warmth and softness.
