A Tale of Two Sisters and a Shared Dream
Our journey began with sisters Molly and Harriet, who dreamt of a better way to make super-soft, responsibly made, and beautifully designed bed linens. Inspired by a shared passion for textiles and sustainability, they created Secret Linen Store to deliver dream-worthy comfort without compromise.

Why Portugal?
We’ve been working with mills in Portugal since day one, and for good reason. Portugal has a rich history in textiles, and the people we work with there are experts in weaving, finishing, and caring for fabric in a way that’s hard to match.
The mills we partner with are small, family-run, and share our values around quality and sustainability. Our relationship is built on trust and shared standards, and the result is bedding that looks good, feels amazing, and lasts a long time.

From Field to Fabric: The Origins of Natural Fibre
To truly understand the origins of our bedding, you have to go right back to the source, where the fibres begin. Our linens start as flax plants, grown in European fields before they’re harvested, retted, and spun into the beautiful yarns we use.

Sustainability is woven into everything we do. For us, it means ongoing improvement, not just in reducing environmental impact, but also in how we manage our social and governance responsibilities.
Responsible Materials
We are dedicated to responsible sourcing and production. In 2024, 91% of our products were made entirely from natural fibres like linen, cotton, and wool.
In 2024 we became certified to the Global Organic Textile Standard, which certifies and tracks our organically grown cotton from the source to final product.
The Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) is the worldwide leading textile processing standard for organic fibres, including ecological and social criteria, backed up by independent certification of the entire textile supply chain.
We are committed to protecting good health & well-being through safer production practices.
Our products are made in OEKO-TEX® certified factories, ensuring they are free from harmful substances and reducing chemical exposure for workers throughout our supply chain.
Partnering for a Lower Impact
Working with our Portuguese partners allows us to control our environmental footprint tightly. Focusing on renewable energy, recycling water, and repurposing fabric offcuts.
Many of our main production facilities are equipped with photovoltaic (solar) panels, helping to significantly reduce reliance on non-renewable energy, along with recycling water & repurposing fabrics.
In 2024, one of our sites reported that solar panels provided 50% of its total energy through self-consumption, while others have achieved around a 30% reduction in electricity usage thanks to solar energy.

From our team in the UK to our partners in Portugal, there’s a lot of heart behind our products. Our designers obsess over colour, texture, and detail.
