Meet Cloud Dancer: Pantone’s Colour of the Year 2026 (Yes… It’s White)

Pantone have revealed their Colour of the Year for 2026, and we’ll be honest, it made us blink twice. White? Really?

But no. It’s official. PANTONE 11-4201 Cloud Dancer has floated in, a soft, billowy white chosen to symbolise calm and quiet reflection. And, with the world as it is, who couldn’t use a little more softness?

Now, if you know our Co-Founder and Creative Director, Molly Freshwater, you’ll know she is not a “white on white” kind of decorator. Not even a little bit. Molly lives in colour, the sludgy, earthy, warm and wonderful sort. Think ochres that glow, greens that soothe, and those beautifully muddied naturals we’ve been obsessing over (and yes, working on for 2026, keep your eyes peeled).

So, when a lofty, angelic white floated to the top of Pantone’s podium, it felt… surprising. Bold, even. 

But here’s the thing: after the double take and a sip of tea, the excitement settled in. Because Cloud Dancer isn’t the stark, chilly white of rental walls and forgotten ceiling paint. It’s softer. Gentler. The kind of white that plays nicely with everything around it. Let’s be honest, white bedding is always, always a bestseller. The people have spoken.

White has this magical way of lifting a room without shouting for attention. It lets textures shine, colours cosy up and patterns breathe. It’s the ultimate multi-tasker of the interiors world. 

Layered generously with all those sludgy naturals we adore, of course. It’s not hard to find this shade throughout our product range already, it sneaks in, elevates and makes everything feel effortlessly pulled together. Yes, Molly will be adding her signature pop of colour (she can’t help herself), but Cloud Dancer gives every shade the space to stretch out and sigh. Much like that happy, content sigh you release when you finally crawl into a comfy, cosy bed after a long day.

Pantone describes it as a shade that “encourages true relaxation and focus, allowing the mind to wander and creativity to breathe.” And actually… we agree. It’s calming, fresh and strangely familiar, the kind of colour you think you know well until you see it doing something quietly extraordinary.

Here’s to Cloud Dancer, the colour we didn’t expect but might just be falling in love with. Perhaps it’s time to open the whites drawer, dust off those soft layers, and let them take centre stage.
