Autumn Bedroom Styling Trends

1. Warm Up Your Bedroom with Earthy Autumn Hues

Autumn is the season of warm and earthy tones, and what better way to capture that cosy autumn vibe than with bedding in rich, autumnal shades? Think deep burgundies, rustic oranges, and calming forest greens. Our collection of bedding sets the stage for a room that feels like a warm hug from a favourite jumper.

2. Cozy Layering for Autumn Comfort

The secret to creating a bedroom that feels inviting and snug? Layering and texture! The great news about layering is that there are so many ways to play. You can layer in one way, two ways or every way you wish. We asked our very own Molly how she likes to layer up for the change of season:

Cosy Curtains:

“Layering curtains is one of my favourite ways to add depth and sophistication to your bedroom decor. Start with sheer linen curtains to allow gentle daylight to filter through during the day, then in the evening you can draw the blackout curtains for privacy and to keep the early morning sun at bay. This dual-layer approach is not only really functional, but also makes for an ultra-snug aesthetic.”

Layering Different Fabrics:

“As a huge lover of fabrics, my ‘go to’ for layers is to add a throw or blanket in a complementary autumn hue. Our reversible throws are perfect for this – you can flip them for a fresh look whenever the mood strikes. Consider mixing different colours and textures to create a tactile experience that is a feast for the senses.”

When it comes to throws, don’t feel you need to fold them neatly on the end of your bed. Drape them casually over your bed linen for an effortlessly stylish, lived-in look.  Caution: your bed may be irresistible and cause immediate snooziness.

Layering Patterns with Plain Colours:

“Don’t be afraid to get creative.  Try layering patterns with plain block colours. Pair solid-coloured bedding with striped or checked cushions or throws, or vice versa. This juxtaposition adds visual interest and injects a bit of personality into your space.”

Layering Pillows and Cushions:

Pillows and cushions are another way to add layers to your décor, especially in the colder months.  I’m a firm believer that when it comes to pillows and cushions the more the merrier.  Mix and match different sizes, shapes, and textures. Pile them up in playful arrangements on your bed. It's not just about comfort; it's about creating an inviting and visually dynamic focal point in your room.”

“Remember, layering isn't just about adding more elements; it's about creating depth, texture, and a sense of abundance. It's your canvas, so have fun experimenting with different combinations until you achieve that perfect autumnal harmony.”

3. Cosy Lighting for Autumn Ambiance

As the nights get longer, cosy lighting becomes essential. Fairy lights, warm-toned bulbs, and stylish bedside lamps create an enchanting ambiance.  Why not put your lamps on a timer so they automatically switch on as it begins to get dark?  There’s nothing more lovely than arriving home to a home bathed in a welcoming glow.

4. Embrace Nature-Inspired Patterns for Autumn

Autumn is all about celebrating nature's beauty and you can do just that with prints and patterns. We have some pretty designs that can instantly infuse your bedroom with an autumnal atmosphere.

5. Embrace Hygge

Last, but not least, don't forget to embrace the Danish concept of "hygge" (pronounced “hoo-gah”). It's all about creating a feeling of well-being and cosiness. Candles, scented diffusers, and a good book can transform your bedroom into a sanctuary of relaxation.
