After what seemed like the longest month ever in January, this month seems to have flown by.

February has seen us taking time to relax after our busy winter sale.... we indulged a lot over pancake day, had a couple of holidays, welcomed new people into team SLS and got ready to launch our Spring collection!

Here's all the other things we've loved this month...

Have you heard about The Pool?

We've only just discovered this amazing website, full of interesting articles about anything and everything. They release articles throughout the day, and all their content is written by a 'pool' of interesting people.

They release something almost every half an hour... there's recipes, fashion, home decor, health, careers, art, beauty and a whole lot more. It's our new favourite read for long train rides and mid-week lunch breaks.

Portugal has a special place in our hearts, it's often warm, they make buildings with patterns on the outside (!!!) and it's perfectly acceptable to eat custard tarts at all times of day. We make all our beautiful bed linen there, which means I've been around 4 times a year for the last 20 years, but I had never been to Lisbon before.

I spent a treasured weekend in February away with my best friend Suzi and I must say it's one of the best cities that we've ever been to. The combination of beautiful architecture, the relaxed pace of life, art, street music and food make it a quite magical place to be.

We wandered for day one , visiting the São Jorge Castle and took time out at the food market.

On day two we ate the best breakfast I've ever had (a delicious salmon bagel) then jumped on bikes and the train to Cascais, a beautiful seaside town. We gorged on seafood, had a wander and headed back to the city. I'm planning my next trip already!

We've been making so many beds these last few months that we've grown team SLS. This month we've had two new friendly faces join us...

Mark - Our new Marketing Manager who will be working away on making sure lots of new people discover our Secret Linen Store.

"My favourite Secret Linen is the Charcoal Washed Cotton Percale. I love how bold it is and how sharp & crisp it looks against my wooden bed. It is so easy to always pick white linen, so I like to shake it up a bit."

Tell us a secret… "I grew up on the teeny island of Guernsey, surrounded by some of the best beaches and finest sea food you can imagine. Now I can’t bear to live more than 5 minutes away from the sound of the sea."

Marzena - Our super Stock Controller, she will be working with our factory friends in Portugal and Scotland to make sure we're never out of stock of our lovely linen.

"My favourite Secret Linen is Relaxed denim Natural. Linen and cotton, what's not to love??"

Tell us a secret… "I once applied to become a police officer!"

@PaperMint on Instagram for endless pattern inspiration.

Mark has been ever so lucky and managed to snag himself a ticket to see Hamilton and I don't think he could have given it a better review...

"Hands down the best show I have EVER seen, and I am a complete London theatre junkie. A hip hop/rap musical about America’s founding fathers. It is the hottest ticket in town at the moment and I will be going again soon!"

Harriet is a big singer, she hums all day long and occasionally will burst into song. Her soundtrack of the month has been The Greatest Showman. Not only is the film amazing, but the soundtrack is even better. You'll leave the cinema feeling uplifted and be downloading the album for the car ride home

Molly's been trying some new recipes, from her new favourite cook book this month...

"For my Birthday, Harriet bought me Anna Jones new cook book... and I love it! I’ve been cooking my way through and so far everything I have made has been so yummy. We’re having a break from meat in our house, so this is perfect with squillions of ideas for meat free meals. Some take time, some are super quick and perfect for mid-week.

Hard to pick my favourite but the 'Turmeric and coconut baked aloo gobi' was amazing, and so so easy!"
