It’s a new colour addition for Secret Linen Store and now we can’t get enough of it. Yellow has made quite an entrance into the world of interiors, it’s hard to ignore. It’s popping up everywhere and anywhere. Everyone wants to get in on the action and bring a little sunshine into their homes. We’re not the only ones that are loving yellow…. Dulux have announced ‘Cherished Gold’ as its Colour of the Year 2016, so don’t expect it to be going anywhere soon.

It’s impossible to do a complete interiors overhaul for every colour, pattern or fabric trend that you fall in love with. You can however, bring a splash of that trend into your home very easily. Yellow is so versatile, there are literally hundreds of shades for you to choose from.

You can go brighter than bright or try a soft golden yellow. Bring your favourite shade into your house by adding a pop of colour into your rooms, this gives your rooms a new lease of life and adds personality. Even better, it won’t cost the earth.

In your bedroom add colour to your bed with a few yellow pillowcases. The darker your contrasting walls or other bed linen the better. Dark navy, grey and teal make the yellow much more dramatic. If you want to add a splash of yellow around the rest of the house, paint lets you do this easily. Splash it on the doors (we love this one from A Beautiful Mess), on the radiator or give an old piece of furniture a new lease of life.

If you’re ready to step it up a notch or two and want to really bring yellow into your home, make it the primary focus of the colour scheme. It works in the kitchen, bedroom, lounge… pretty much anywhere. We’re yet to find a colour that yellow won’t pair perfectly with (if you can think of one we’ll prove you wrong!). If you opt for soft golden yellows like cherished gold, compliment with earthy neutral tones like terracotta and blush. If you’re going big, bold and bright then partner with equally vibrant colours.

If you’re yet to be convinced, order a couple of our free yellow samples to see how they fair in your bedroom. We bet you won’t be disappointed. For more of our mellow yellow loving, check out our Pinterest board devoted to… you guessed it… yellow.
