October Secret Sevens

The year is passing by pretty quickly... so we always love to take a second at the end of each month to look at all the things we've loved about the past month.

October's been a month full of meetings and making big plans, launching new products and making lots and lots of beds.

Faune is a beautiful new kid's nightwear brand started by good friends Delia and Nicola (who also happen to be great friends of Molly).

We love sleep, so any bedtime treats make us very happy. Their nightwear for little girls is exquisite, hand crafted in India with cotton and lace in beautiful pastel shades. Their collection is designed in London and produced in a small family run factory.

They're also doing some good with their business by donating 25p from each nightdress to The Rittana Children's Foundation, a wonderful non-profit organisation that supports vulnerable children in India. We love this Faune, and their perfect and pretty nightwear.

Now we just want a pair of their PJs in our size!

We love supporting other brilliant businesses (especially when we love their products). Our friends at Black+Blum have created a new product that we think is pretty great, and they've just launched a kickstarter campaign to launch and amazing new water bottle concept.

Kickstarter lets you help businesses by pledging some pennies to help them launch a new product. Black+Blum need pledges to get their Eau Good Duo water bottle to launch. You can read all about the water bottle, how it's eco-friendly and uses a new charcoal filter technology here.

You can pledge anything from £1 to help them on their way... but spare £24 or more and you'll be sent a bottle as soon as they launch in May. Take a look and give a helping hand.

It seems we've been launching lots of super new bits this month.

At the beginning of the month it was our very first range of curtains. We've always been asked for matching curtains for our bed linens and now we finally have a small range of blackout curtains and simple loop top curtains.

This month our new Autumn collection also arrived... and this season we've gone a bit barmy for blue! It's a new colour for us that we love and hope you do to! We've got two new unique designs from Molly, our signature Relaxed Denim in Slate Blue and matching sheets. We've also added to our collection on whites with a super sateen set with our dainty diamonds design.

This month we we're lucky enough to be shortlisted for an award for this little space on our website. Our blog was nominated in the Amara Interior Blog Awards for Best Company Blog. Although we didn't nab ourselves an award this year we did get to meet lots of lovely

Emma Jane Palin.

We discovered Emma's blog after she scooped two awards on the night. Her first for colour inspiration and the second for the best designed blog. With a 2 hour train journey home, we can confirm she was well deserving of both!

Girl About House

We got chatting to Sarah right at the start of the evening... she was wearing the most amazing green skirt and we needed to know where to get one ourselves (it turned out to be a vintage steal from her Mum!).

She was lovely and chatty, and we were so pleased when she won the best newcomer award! Her blog is still in its early days but well worth having a peek at for some expert interiors inspiration.

Hester's Homemade Home

There were such a mix of bloggers at the event and we got chatting to Hester about all things craft. Her blog has super easy DIY bits and bobs that make crafting seem accessible to everybody.

She was lovey and was wearing the most glam earrings we'd ever seen!

Harriet's got an October TV favourite...

"I was really moved watching the George Michael Documentary recently. Wham was ever so slightly before my time; however, I love a good sing along to their hits, and I followed George’s career as a solo artist through the 90’s.

I didn’t know much about the star, other than the infamous scandals, but this programme was a real insight into the tragic, and lonely life of someone so talented. I would really recommend a watch, and have been listening to his album “Listen without prejudice” ever since. You can catch it on Channel 4 catch up for another couple of weeks, and I highly recommend it."

Have you seen Taskmaster?

We're not sure where we've been for the last 5 series, but if you're after a giggle then get watching!

It's currently being shown on Dave TV and is just silly people, being silly and doing silly things and well worth a watch if you're looking for a laugh.

Molly is always dashing around London...

"I was recently wandering through St Pancras station and was reminded of how much I adore the sound of the public pianos.

Place for anyone and everyone to have a go, I love watching people coming and going. The sound of spontaneous music from one of the many concourse piano's is quite wonderful. If I have a second, I'll stop and listen and love to see the different skill and variety of the performers."

If you want a little insight into the pianists that play, listen to this short BBC documentary.
