To party, or not to party?

New Year Celebrations

So today is the day that many of us will head out to let our hair down, eat, drink and be generally merry with friends and family. And why not hey?

I like a good knees up, but this Christmas, I must admit I have found myself feeling more and more rotten, after too much over indulgence. So this year, I am abstaining from the traditional celebrations involving way too much alcohol and a very sore head on New Years Day, and i'm throwing a booze free party for my 2 nephews and my 2 children.  I was invited to a dinner party and i'll admit that I was torn about whether or not to go. We couldn't get a babysitter (The hardest day of the year to find one for certain) and I did go through a bout of FOMO (Fear of missing out), but now I've made my mind up, i'm quite looking forward to it.

We will have disco dancing, nibbles, games and plenty of giggles, and tomorrow I will be one of the smug ones, waking up without a hangover and starting 2014 how I mean to go on. Maybe it's because i'm getting older, and found a whole batch of grey hairs over the Christmas break, but this year, more than ever,  I want to look after myself. I have big plans and that means less booze, better diet and plenty of exercise. I'm doing my first dry January this year, so let's see how it goes. At 32, it's time I started taking a bit more care of myself.

Whatever your plans, boozy or not, I wish you a very Happy New Year and hope that 2014 brings you everything your heart desires.

Here's to a healthy, successful and smile filled 2014.

Hatty x
