Septembers Secret Sevens

Outside of our bedtime business we're constantly discovering new things, the kind of things we have to tell each other about. Tell our best friend, natter together over our morning cuppa or ring our Mum because they're too good a secret to keep. Now every month we're going to pop our favourite things into one tidy list and share these secrets with you too. We're only four in our team, and in our 20's, 30's and 40's, so you'll get an eclectic mix, but sharing is caring, and boy do we love to talk!

Completely absurd, and totally bonkers, but Harriet and her 6 year old daughter can't stop listening to the Pen Pineapple Apple Pen Youtube video by Japanese singer and comedian Piko Taro. It's so stupid, but utterly addictive. It comes with a warning though, you can't un-see it.

These Morrocan babouche slippers from Bohemia, which incidentally, would be the perfect thing to step into after climbing out of a bed dressed in our new washed cotton percale in grey.

This month we're getting very  into the Great British Bake Off, but isn't everyone? Putting our pastries to one side we've been whipping up these delicious orange and fig muffins from Broma Bakery. It wouldn't be right to watch without cake and tea, surely?

We're a bit late to the party, but we've been laughing out loud catching up with the entire 2 series of Channel 4's Catastrophe. If you're easily offended by potty mouths, then you might want to avoid it, but the comedy story of a couple who find themselves expecting a baby after a very short fling results in a hilarious cataloge of events that any parent can relate to.

Jodie's just finished "Killing Floor" by Lee Childs. A real suspense thriller with some dark twists and tales. Molly's been reading "A Little Life" by Hanya Yanagihara. Now this is some feat in itself because the book is huge, and Molly is not normally a reader. It must be really good to have captivated her attention. It's a tale of four boys friendship from university and on throughout their lives with plenty of curve balls to overcome together. It's not a jolly tale however so tissues at the ready.

One of team SLS took a trip to the Devonshire coast for a long weekend in Salcombe and hasn't stopped recommending it since. Top reasons for making a trip... there's an abundance of fudge (make sure you stop by Rolys where they're cooking it up right on the shop floor!), a stop off at Blackpool Sands will have you thinking you've hopped on a plane and landed in the Caribbean and it seems every pub knows good food.

Ffion Mckeown on Instagram. Her gorgeous feed is beautifully curated and full of yummy breakfasts and coffee. What's not to love?

We'd love to hear what have been your favourite things this month? Write us a letter, tweet us, phone us or send carrier pigeon, we're always here to chat.

Our favourite places: Salcome, Devon
